Awesome

Very useful bible tool study! Now running smooth on OS X

Awesome!

I really like it! Unfortunately, everything is based on the english language. Therefore there are only a few commentaries etc. on other languages. Nevertheless, it is very useful! God bless

Greatly appreciate this valuable bible study tool.

Got used to it for many years, it has become a valuable and helpful tool. Nearly all of what I need. The Mac solution is not as elegant as the Windows solution, but this might be due to Mac OS.

Great! Love it!

I love the new e-Sword for Mac. I like how it allowed me to transfer all my personal modules over with the conversion tool available from their website. It is FAST and easy to use!

Very good

This latest release for Mac OS is simply fantastic. I’ve been using e-sword for years both on a PC and my Mac using Crossover. I’m very glad this Mac version is now available as it’s even easier to use and navigate than the PC version. The amount charged is so small for what you get it’s hard to believe. Well done!

Mac version of e-Sword

Simply the best. An absolutely fantistic tool with so many free resources. To have it now on Mac is like heaven to me.

Truly a great scripture study tool!

Wow, I wish I’d heard of e-sword sooner! I’m loving the power of this application. It has empowered me to do scripture study in a very affordable way. The only other tools are incredibly expensive. I can look up original words, study their meanings, look at maps, and so much more. Indispensible!

It’s about time!

I have been waiting for this app for 3 years, ever since I switched to OSX. This app is off to a very good start. I also use Logos, Accordance, and Olive Tree, although Olive Tree has never worked on my Macbook pro for some reason, it crashes regularly. Esword X is now my go to app for speed and power. I would give it 5 stars but I cannot get it to open with the previous layout even though the developer has provided a quick response to my email support, but with no resolution. The speediest Bible app for Mac to date.

I Love this app!

We have been using esword for a few years now, and absolutely love it. You can’t find a better bible study tool. I was so disappointed when I bought a Mac computer and it wasn’t available at first. Thank you so much for offering esword for Mac…I love it, and love the ease and extensiveness of this tool.

How to get new Files to install on a Mac? I figured it out.

Download a BBLX file, a pc based e-sword file and head to e-sword to download a converter to download a PC based converter that will convert a BBLX to BBLi which is able to run on a Mac. Once its converted to a BBLi file head to e-sword X and go to file->resources->Import to upload a BBLi file.

e-Sword X: Bible Study Extreme

I installed this application on my iMac easily and quickly. I had ownership of a PC windows version of the NKJV and notes by Vine. I had some difficulty adding those two programs but with the (email) help of Rick Meyers I was able to get them up and running. There is more flexibility in running this program with the Apple application than I experienced with the PC application. I really like the drop down menus and the quick helps provided. My study goes more quickly with a higher level of productivity than on my PC version. The "copy and paste" features, the verses popping up on the screen keep the context flowing. Lots of free additions to the app are available for your use on the program. Hope this is helpful if you are considering purchasing this program for your Apple products.

About e-sword x

This software is quick and responsive and has such a good selection of Bible versions and commentaries etc. Best Bible software I’ve used on my Macbook!

I have been waiting for this great Bible Study Tool for Mac

Not So Great For Me

I dont know how to add content to the default page so for me the ipad version is best I love the app I noticed someone said it was free it was’nt for me i paid $19.95usd

Awesome Resource! A Blessing!!

I’d give it ten stars if that were an option!

eSword, the Best BIBLE Study tool, bar none

That is a strong Statement, but I have used it Since I was doing Street Ministry, teaching the Bible to the Homeless. thats was way back in eSwords developing days. Buying a ready made Disk from Rick was a High Point in that time!!!! Now retired, and on an Apple System, I worked between my iPhone, my iPad(s) MacBook Pro, and my Ultra light weight Mac Air, I say that, to say: it is seamless, and I can transfer thoughts/writings from one to the other with no headaches. the Only issue I have had was trying to develop my choice of Font & its Size, but I think the real issue was still being new to Apples OS, not eSword!

Everything you need… in one place!

The content that E Sword offers is great for the type of studying that I do in sermon prep / study prep. To have all of the dictionaries, encyclopedias, commentaries all in one location with a click and grab approach to most everything has made my life as a bi-vocational pastor much, much easier! One wouldn’t think that saving a few keystrokes or mouse clicks going in-between programs would mean much, however, when time is such a premium, every little thing helps. E Sword has been a great addition to my daily study tools on my Mac, Ipad, and Iphone. Great job to the team who put this together!

Lots of Great Free Content

I am grateful for this app, yet it needs work. I think the converstion utility to get the free PC modules converted could also use an update. The converstion utility does a bad job of converting Strong’s numbers and Scripture links. The work around is to manually open the referenced link, but it doesn’t help if the Bible is already set to a passage you want to keep open, and the same goes for the Strong’s numbers. An easy fix for this is to allow multiple windows for each area of the app like the Bible, the Dictionaries, the Commentaries, and the Strong’s Dictionary or other modules that go in the area where the Strong’s Dictionary window is located. Another unfortunate thing is the conversion utility doesn’t convert modules with the .mapx file extension. Another thing is there is an extremely limited help file. It is an actual webpage that gives an overview of some of the features, but there is not a lot of detail. However, if you have used the PC version of e-Sword you should be able to adjust fairly well. One great thing about the app is the speed. By comparison the PC version running on my Mac via CrossOver is a turtle comparied to the native e-Sword X app. And there are lots of free modules to download via the app File Menu. Lastly, since the user experience will be diminished because of the things I mentioned above, I suggest a free trial version be made available. A 10-14 free trial will be more than enough time to determine if you are willing to pay for this Mac App Store version of the app. Blessings!

Very hepfull

I AM EXCITED TO FINALLY BE ABLE TO HAVE A BIBLE ON MY MAC. I had written a dissapointed review because I thought the screen was locked. I wrote to them, and they responded immediately. Showed me something I didnt notice before. After that the app works great! as wonderful as in my other devices.. Thank you so much for taking care of me right away. I DO RECOMMEND IT!

Excellent Resource

I am a traveling (missionary) Bible teacher and seminary professor. I have used e-sword for years and find it to be easy to use and available to all of my students since the basic version is free. This is a big deal, especially in 3rd world countries where students cannot afford to buy resources. I highly recommend it and consult it often as I travel. So much easier than having to carry along individual books, and so much better than most of the other free resources. I especially like that I can use it off line. Many places I travel still do not have fast enough internet to access resources online.
