esword for apple macbook air

love this app. I’ve known about it for years and didn’t know how to work it. got a mac book air and downloaded the app and watched a video on it. this app is the best. it has sooo much quality free stuff. it has enhanced my bible study incredibly. im in tyndale theological seminary so this is really a great tool.

Jubilation

The reviews I am reading are not good enough and five stars are not enough for this App. GOD switched the light on February 2011. GOD placed Rick Meyers and e-Sword directly in my path to help me and others grow in faith. Praises be. I can only imagine the souls (I will be one) lined up behind Rick when he receives, “Well done, good and faithful servant!” - HP

Much Improved

Thank you for your efforts. Please add the same tools that the Windows version has.

Extremely Happy It’s On The Mac

I love this software…I have been using it for a long time (on windows). Now I am very happy to have it on the Mac. It’s very good for just being released. I hope that it can be tuned up...currently, the windows configuration does not stay as I have defined it and various other little things that can be tuned up. Overall very happy with the purchase.

E-Sword X Yes!

so happy to have this on Mac OS X. The iPad version was great but it is even better to have it also on desktop. Great combination of free and classic materials along with modern one available for purchase. It is very affordable and has great resources.

I keep it simple

I keep use of the program simple—several Bibles and several commentaries to help in my study. Whlle I don’t use anywhere near all the features, having Strong’s concordance available to help occasionally is a great benefit. Very useful program that brings multiple tools to one platform, and makes easier the disciple of staying in the Bible daily.

Be glad when Apple allows e-sword to equal the Windows version.

Wish that Apple would allow e-Sword to equal the free version that Microsoft has. They charge $10.00 for a very weak imitation of Rick Meyers free MS version. It is better than nothing, but I miss the best. I have problems since the upgrade to El Capitan, so must coordinate with apple for a re install, do not know how that will work. Like I said earlier, Rick Meyers has a fantastic program, free for windows, be glad when apple approves the equal instead of this weak imitation. And the thought that they impose speech ‘approval on the customers is un-American.

This is THE most powerful and enpowering Bible studying tool

Amazing software! With this anyone can study, research and get deep into Bible studies. You can search, view many many commentaries, research the greek and hebrew meaning of the words, compare tons of Bibles verses, and so so much more. It IS INDEED an electronic sword! I recommend eSword for anyone serious about Bible studies and also for those that only want a electronic Bible to read. Why spend 2.99 or 4.99 on single Bibles on even more on something else, when you can have the REAL SWORD for this bargain?! Best money (if you consider 9 bucks money) I’ve spend in a very, I mean VERY long time!

Its ok

I wish it had a better wordprocesser and easier access to the toolbar.

PC User

It took some getting used to this new version, but it was well worth the effort. I especially appreciate the option of being able to read the Bible selections without the reference numbers, and selecting reference text when I need it.

BEST OUT THERE

I HAVE USED WINDOWS LAPTOPS BECAUSE E-SWORD WAS NOT AVAILABE FOR MAC. NOW I RUN IT ON MAC AND FEEL JUST AT HOME AS I WAS ON THE PC VERSION. GOODBYE WINDOWS AND ALL THAT GOES WITH IT. SEARCH IS FAST AND COMPLETE. I LOOK FORWARD TO UPDATES BECAUSE AS GOOD AS IT IS, IT WILL ALWAYS GET BETTER.

Mac User

I choose to buy e-Sword X for two reasons: 1) the main reason being that the freeware Bible software (Eloquent) that I had previously used was no longer compatable with my new updated operating system and 2) I have many friends and family members who have used various versions of e-Sword and their feedback was overwhelmingly positive. My experience with it so far is no different than theirs and I have been overall impressed with its performance. I am still a green e-Sword user, so there is a lot of functionallity that I have not yet explored. The only little quirk that I seem to have found with the program is a minor bug regarding the loading and deleting of modules - nothing serious. Highly recommended perchase in my opinion, it will be well worth your money.

My "go to" for personal Bible study

Having this source for complete study of the scriptures on my Mac is such a blessing. I prepare sermons and bible studies each week and find this wonderful tool amazing as I search for topics as well as do indepth studies. Thank you for making it easy and simple to find all I need to open the truth of the Scriptures to myself and our congregation.

Sunday School Teacher

I have used e-sword since it’s early days, and it has been a blessing. Six years ago I bought my first Mac and used different methods of having e-sword MS version on the Mac. The last was Crossover that worked the best. I have lots of dat books from Quickverse, and I am able to use them with Crossover on the Mac. This version of e-sword is good, but it doesn’t have the ability to read dat books. The MS version is the most versatile for me. Anyone looking for a good bible program for Mac can not go wrong with e-Sword X 3.2 version.

Wilbur

I really like this software. I is a little more difficult than the microsoft version, but I am thrilled it is available on Apple!

I wouldn’t be without my E Sword!

As a writer of Chrisian fiction, I use my E Sword every single day…it is the very best tool I have ever found. I wouldn’t be without it!

Good Biblical Starting point for Passage Study

For devotional study, and primary exegesis for messages, E-Sword has always been my go to application. The iMac version is no exception. A "Well Done!" goes to the developers. My only recommendation would be to add a simple “Word Processing” page that is not tied to a “study” or “Journal” or “Topic” that can be saved as a “Message” without being anchored to a verse or a date.

Mac version

I absolutly love this program. I first used it when I had a Windows computer and even delayed moving to the Mac until a Mac version was available. I use this program even on my phone which is very handy when I am out and about and need to refute an error or need some background behind a verse, etc. There is so much more it can do that I havent even began to use, such as the note taking etc. I really like the add ons you can buy to increase your library. Of course there are so many great free add on already. I would not go without e-sword in my study.

A good start

As a longtime user of the Windows version of e-Sword, I was delighted to see a native version for OS X. (Prior to purchasing e-Sword X I had been using the Windows version that I wrapped using Wineskin Winery). It’s nice that resources are cross-platform and the layout is generally consistent between Windows and OS X. For most casual users of the Windows version of e-Sword, e-Sword X will work wonderfully. But for those of us who have become very familiar with the Windows version they may encounter a little bit of a learning curve in using e-Sword X. As it currently is, e-Sword X is a good start and look forward to future updates.

Helped Me On My Greek Final

Love this application! The Mac ecosystem is very clean and shows itself to be the same way in the application. Parallel bible is helpful as well. Helped me through my Greek final!
